Top 10 Fastest Jet Aircraft in The World

1. X-43A

It is considered as the world’s flight jet powered aircraft. As of 2004, it set a record of 9.8 Mach. It is three times the speed of a Blackbird aircraft. The main fuel of this jet is hydrogen. Another criterion which made it distinct from the rest is that it does not require oxygen to keep the engine going. This hits that number 1 spot of the 10 fastest jet aircraft in the world.

2. X-15

X-15 is a rocket powered plane reaching a total of mach 6.7. It sure is a speed demon. Matter of fact, it is the fastest manned aircraft. It is using a hydrogen peroxide to attain a high speed pump.

3. SR-71 Blackbird

Blackbird is a special type of strategic aircraft basically developed by the Lockheed Skunk Works. It has been tested and observed for the past four decades primarily working for the United States Air Force. The jet finally retired in 1998.

4. MiG-25 Foxbat

This jet has an average speed of about Mach 2.83. it is a popular type of jet considered as the fastest jet fighter the world has ever have, and up until now it is still in active service. This is primarily used for high altitude flights. With its great masterpiece and performance, it sure deserves to be included in the list of 10 fastest jet aircraft in the world.

5. Bell X-2 “Starbuster”

A specialized type of research aircraft created by the United States of America to do studies on the characteristics of flight of the Mach 2-3 range. The major problem found was a thermal barrier experienced when nearly achieving Mach 3. This is primarily due to extreme heating effects caused by the aerodynamic friction. This jet was made of stainless steel and copper nickel alloy. It deserves to be in the 5th place of the 10 fastest jet aircraft in the world.

6. XB-70 Valkyrie

The XB-70A Valkyrie was built by the North American Aviation for the U.S Air Force. It is a nuclear bomber jet which has the ability to cruise at 2,000 mph. It plays a significant role in the history as the fastest bombers in the world.

7. F-15 Eagle

McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle is a tactical fighter jet created to produce air superiority in the aerial combat. It can detect low flying target. 9. Aardvark F111

An American tactical aircraft built with incredible speed and extreme agility to matches. It was made because of several purposes, but the main reason for the construction of the jet is to serve as the naval fighter bomber for the aircraft carriers. This fighter jet is powered by Pratt & Whitney TF30-P-100 turbofans. It is flying with a top speed of 2.5 Mach. It landed as the 9th fastest jet aircraft in the world.

10. Tupolev Tu-144

The world’s first ever supersonic aircraft having a top speed of Mach 2.35 or 1,550 mph. it is the fastest commercial airliner the world ever have. However, it has not been that of successful. In 1978, the jet retired from service.
